About the Book

I would like to tell you a little about this book. It began as a birthday card for my dear son, a simple picture of a painted foal. Yet when I fi nished it, I could not help but feel this little guy should become more than just a picture. So I plotted a story about him. As my son grew, from baby to toddler, so did Cow-Horse. Finally, now it is time for this little story to leave home, and fi nd itself in your hands. I hope you will treasure it, as I have, and enjoy the message I hope to convey.

About the Author

Nicola was born in Nelson and grew up in Dargaville, in Northland, New Zealand. She lives on a farm, and is happiest when surrounded by her animals, especially her horses. She is an accomplished story teller. Cow-Horse is her first book and was written when she was 21.
