About the Author

Starting life in Massachusetts, Amelia Thomas left as soon as she could for Pennsylvania, upstate New York, Wyoming and Connecticut. She held jobs at first centering in farm management, later moving on to secretarial, cooking, and executive work. In 1977, she edited The Letters and Journals of Waldo Emerson Forbes, a collection of the writings of this grandson of Ralph Waldo Emerson. Amelia is now raising sheep, flowers and vegetables in Rhode Island with her Welsh Corgi, Heledh.
