About the Book

Hues of Blue is a unique balance of poems dealing with life, love, fantasy, nature and growth in wisdom. Particular subjects and selections chosen from my poetry written over the last ten years provides a glimpse into life and love portrayed in verse.

About the Author

I come from a midsize Michigan town, grew up in a middle class family and spent most of my adult life as an auto worker. I have always lived in Michigan but have traveled a small amount in the U.S. At heart I've always felt there was an artist in me but did not act on it until reaching middle age. I had been painting for several years and thought perhaps I would try my hand at writing some poetry and verse. I wasn't really into poetry much when I was younger, nor am I well read in it. I wasn't schooled in any of the arts but I have always admired them all. Music was my main influence when it came to lyrical or written word. I mainly started writing in the latter months of 2004. As I have delved into writing I tried to either get an emotion out or a point across, then tried to make it flow. Hopefully I have captured that in my creations. So if you are looking for something down to earth, some thought provoking subjects, a journey into themes or a splash into fantasy, then hopefully you will enjoy my book. Mostly I just want to be encouraging to people and let them know we have all been "there" at times and we are not alone when navigating the courses of life.
