About the Author

Cathy L. Young, an African American from Pine Bluff, Arkansas, is an aspiring creative author and versatile writer. She’s often been called an “out of the box” kind of writer. The Arkansas native comes from a large family of nine and is the mother of three daughters, two granddaughters and one grandson. Cathy received a diploma from John Casablanca’s Modeling and Acting Career Center, for professional training in modeling and acting. She also went to SEARK College for two years graduating with honors, receiving an Associate of Arts and an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business Management as well as several other certificates of achievement. Young’s presently attending the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff to obtain a BA Degree majoring in Theatre and Acting. Young loves to write and has inspired many by her writing including celebrities that she’s given her books to including Dr. Maya Angelo, Actor Kel Mitchelle (from Good Burger) and Kirk Franklin. Cathy has also published three poetry books and the series Grandma’s Rose, books 1, 2, and 3 she’s written and illustrated a children’s book called Our Cats Climb.
