About the Book
God’s Husbands, it is time to return to your first love. The number one reason to return to God is your out-of-order lifestyle. It is causing children to develop confusing and un-Christianlike tendencies, hindering their own growth. Do you believe it is okay for Daddy to have a wife and a lover? Is it okay by God for Dad to divorce and marry two, three, and multiple times? Do you believe its okay for Dad to cause harm and unnecessary emotional stress upon his family? “A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children; and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just” (Proverbs 13:22). Men of God, what lifestyle are you leaving for your sons and daughters? Ask yourself, is it Holy living? Why are there so many Christian women unmarried? Is it because single Christian men are afraid of commitment? God said, “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom ye have of God, and ye are not your own” (1 Corinthians 6:19). “But if they cannot have self-control, let them marry, for it is better to marry than to burn” (1 Corinthians 7:9).
About the Author
My mother, Delores Savoy (deceased), grandmother, Alice Henderson (deceased), and Waverlin Johnson, age 88, resides in Mississippi. These three women were my spiritual foundation; their strict discipline and guidance molded me into the servant of God that I am today. My stepfather, John Savoy was instrumental in providing a loving and caring home for Mary, Wayne, Darrell and I. Like many Baptist families in the South, my mother and grandmother always made sure that my siblings and I prepared our church clothes on Saturday night for Sunday services. We attended my neighborhood church Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. They made sure that we were attentive and on-time for Sunday school and the three church services. Those years of Vacation Bible School and weekly teachings infused biblical beliefs into my decisions in planning educational goal for the future. While attending the University of Southern Mississippi, I would come home every weekend to teach Sunday School classes. The classes were comprised of teenagers. In preparing these lessons, I became closer to hearing the voice of God at an early age. After graduating from college, I started teaching in the Mississippi Public School System at Green Acres Elementary in Long Beach, MS. It was during this assignment, that I met Shelby Johnson Jr. We dated for three years, and this United States Air Force man swept me off my feet! We were married on July 21, 1979. He took me from Mississippi to Germany! During our years of traveling from several continents, we had our son, Shelby Johnson III in Germany and a daughter Sharron Nicole Johnson in California. Presently, we have been married for thirty years, and God is constantly teaching us on how to be more loving and kind to each other. I love being married! My husband is truly my spiritual covering sent from God!
