About the Book

Abiding in the Doctrine of Christ is a Bible-study book on the first principles of the word of God. It covers several topics, including scriptural authority, the new life in Christ, the church, and faithful service to the Lord, with review exercises at the end of each chapter. The book is a must have for babes in Christ who should crave the pure milk of the word to be grounded in the doctrine of Christ. It is written in a form that facilitates open-minded reasoning, even on long-held views. It is my belief that congregations should periodically provide fundamentals class to edify and equip brethrens for acceptable worship and service in the Lord. The book is ideal for individual studies and group Bible classes.

About the Author

Dr. Owete S. Owete was born May 29, 1950, in Emu-Uno, Delta State, Nigeria. He has a PhD in petroleum engineering from Stanford University and a BS and MS in petroleum engineering from Louisiana State University. Owete obeyed the gospel in August 1982 and was particularly influenced by the Babes in Christ training conducted by one of the elders, Harry Hendry, at the Church of Christ in Sunnyvale, California. Brother Owete and his family worshipped and were active in personal evangelism at various congregations in California, Nigeria, and Florida. Owete studied with his mother, Obesem Owete, in Nigeria. She was baptized in November 1984. That same month, Owete started the congregation in Emu-Uno, and he actively supports the work there.
