About the Book

As children, our first inclination is to take the animals that we find in the wild and carry them home to see if our parents will allow us to keep them as our pets. So often we are told to return them to their familiar surroundings so they will have a normal life and a better chance for survival. Occasionally, we get a chance to keep them for a while. The lesson in Finding Tucker is to appreciate the short visit he paid and to view his departure as a way of accepting change in our lives. Then by letting the memories be sweet ones rather than sad ones, we learn to appreciate our natural surroundings and truly become guardians of the planet.

About the Author

Grayce Presnar is a retired US Postal Service rural mail carrier living in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was able to turn her retirement into the teaching profession she wasn’t able to attain after attending Slippery Rock State College many years ago. She now enjoys substitute teaching and writing children’s stories in her retirement. Most of her stories evolved from real-life circumstances involving her grandchildren or her own pets. Some of her stories stem from animals she encountered on her mail route. She blames her grandkids for turning her into a storyteller.
