About the Author

Rachel A. Jarvis, Esq., a West Virginian, is a mother, wife, attorney, broker, business owner and writer. Rachel is a graduate of West Virginia University College of Law and is licensed to practice law in West Virginia and Florida. She also attended Marshall University, graduating Magna Cum Laude obtaining a bachelor degree in criminal justice legal studies, a minor in French and an associate degree in legal assisting. Rachel enjoys world travel and studied abroad during her educational endeavors in France, Brazil and Mexico focusing on language, foreign policy and business regulations. In addition to world studies, Rachel is also passionate about women’s rights and the prevention of domestic violence for women, men and children. An advocate for shelters and safety, Rachel has and continues to volunteer at shelters and food pantries throughout the state of West Virginia. Rachel and her husband, Brian, work side by side as professionals, business owners and parents. When Rachel and Brian delved into the newspaper business, she wanted to offer readers of The Exponent Telegram more than legal knowledge for their beloved newspaper. An avid foodie and at-home cook, Rachel thought readers might enjoy a food column. When the executive editor implemented a food section, local chefs and devoted readers excitedly contributed to the Bon Appetit page in The Exponent Telegram.
