About the Book

This book contains many practical tips for managers wishing to become leaders. The difference between the two is that managers control the business process whilst leaders manage change. The author takes us on a progressive journey of lessons learnt as he develops his career from a technical designer to achieving senior international management positions. He provides insight into how to break down the barriers in leading multi-cultural, multi-site organizations and developing them into high performing teams. He strongly agrees with Ray Kroc of McDonald`s view “That none of us is as good as all of us.” He has spent over thirty five years in the construction industry, mainly in the oil and gas sectors and successfully led green field start-ups, joint ventures and business turnarounds. From the stormy waters of the North Sea to the head-hunting Iban [E-ban] tribesmen of Borneo the author leads us through an interesting series of adventures and the learning opportunity in his quest for success.
