About the Book

Through the tale of Loyosha, Ibrahim, and Brojeshwar, the author has revived the appeal of the eighteenth-century English Gothic suspense novel in an Indian background. The story begins with the mysterious death of Damayanti and proceeds with many twists and turns. The changing situations, the reactions of the main characters, the political environment during the Clinton administration, and the tensions of the Kargil war in India have all been woven together to give this tale the appeal of a thriller with a philosophical ending. About the Author

Born into an urbane Bengali family of lawyers, engineers, and doctors, Rabina Banerjee received her master’s degree in English from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. In the United States she studied business administration and early childhood studies and did various jobs before returning to her interest in English literature and writing this work of fiction. Daughter of an executive, sister of an electrical engineer, Rabina was introduced to the world of fiction at an early age in her family environment. Rabina lives in California with her husband and son.
