Once you have decided what good thoughts you want to plant, plant it! Don't hold on to it. If a gardener holds a seed in his hand and keeps saying, ‘I will plant it tomorrow,’ the seed can't start growing. You think your thought, or as we have been saying, you plant your seed in the magic soil of universal mind and then let it go! You know the seed will grow once it has been planted. You say ‘thank you’ and let it start growing!
Of course, you will make the picture in your mind and still wait happily, but that is all. You know it will grow. That is faith. Faith is believing and knowing that what you have planted, but cannot see yet, will happen when the time is right. This does not mean that you can just sit and do nothing. When you go to school and have to learn something, you cannot just plant the seed and say, ‘I want to know that.’ You have to do your work by learning it yourself. Remember, watering and caring.
If you want to play a game very well, you have to practice. The more you practice, the better you will play. The world-famous golfer, Gary Player, once said, ‘The harder I practice, the luckier I get.’ Now we know there is no such thing as luck. We make our own luck by doing our part and the universal mind will do the rest. The seed will grow. Universal mind does not care what you plant in the magic soil—it just grows. That is the law of nature.
We can choose what we want and how we want to live, which means we use our own free will. If you choose to plant bad seeds, life may not go so well for us, particularly if we live only for ourselves.
You can choose to be happy. You don't always have to get something to be happy. If we make up our minds to be happy, then the good things somehow find their way to us.
If you smile at somebody, they usually smile back at you. If you laugh a lot, the whole world laughs with you. No, I know you can't always be laughing, but you can be nice to Mummy, Daddy, and other people, and the ball will keep bouncing back to you in the nicest possible way. Now that's magic!
