About the Author

I am seventy-three years old, married to Kitty for fifty-five years this year, our emerald anniversary. We have two children, Andre and Anita, and four grandchildren—Andre has two, Sophie and Francis; Anita has two, James and Amy. I was a war baby from a poor background, which meant my education was rather basic, but I have learnt a lot through the school of life. My hobbies are golf, archery, and recently, writing, which I thoroughly enjoy; I wish I had taken it up earlier. Kitty has been a great help with my writings and has furnished me with some good ideas.
