I don’t remember the circumstances that led to this. But my mother pushed me and pressed me against her legs. As I fought to get away from that pressure, she made it even more painful. She sat me on her feet and lifted my head. My eyes encountered hers as she leaned to grab my mouth. I could tell her anger from that look. Her head scarf almost fell as she struggled to maintain me.

About the Author

Toni Tati was born in 1973 in the West Central Guinea where he attended primary school. In 1996 he got his baccalaureate from the capitale. In 2000 he graduated and earned a master’s degree in Economics and Finance. Currently he is accepted at the City university where he’s planning to pursue his education. He was born with challenges, particularly with a lip malformation.
