And who can keep good notes when there is a baby in the house? Eric, the new baby brother was cute and “a very sweet baby” the mother said. Yet he cried, cried, and cried some more. The doctor had no cure. The diagnosis was colic. Indigo’s parents said they could not imagine how having a tummy that hurt most of the day and could make a baby feel, terrible. Colic didn’t even sound good. Colic. They said Eric would not have to live someplace else, even for a little while. As long as Eric didn’t have to share Indigo’s room. Although, Indigo thought, maybe the twinkling stars on her ceiling, or the solar system suspended so nicely in the corner of her bedroom, would help Eric fall asleep, just like it helped Indigo fall asleep most nights.

About the Book
Indigo A. Starr is a resident of Ahstonville. Her family has lived there for generations. As Indigo enters elementary school, she learns about the value of good friends, family, and hard work. She learns about herself and is open to learning all she can while having as much fun as she can. Come along and have some fun as Indigo shares her story with you!
About the Author
The author as a middle schooler loved getting lost in a good book. As a nanny and then a nurse, the author enjoyed hearing what children wanted to talk about and what books they found the most fun to read. Indigo came to the author in a dream, and her story could be any young girl’s story.
