About the Book

The Nazareth Tales is a heartwarming contemporary peek through the mists of time into the prenativity story of Mary’s journey back to Joseph after the birth of John the Baptist. Before, during, and after her travels in a caravan with a crew of other young folks, this young Mary reflects, ponders, and bravely moves on, beginning to learn about fitting into God’s plan for her. At the nightly campfires along the route, we encounter fictional, everyday biblical people, imperfect and much like ourselves, when Mary joins in with the others as they share and comment on one another’s stories. Jerre Cline brings you a faith-based tale with a nod to Chaucer.

About the Author

Jerre Cline’s experience as a high school principal and insights gained as the caring father of five converge as he draws readers to look in a new way at what might have been the mindset of the young heroine in The Nazareth Tales. His Ph.D. in educational administration at Indiana State University capped a wide-ranging university education spanning 30 years. During this time he also served in the U.S. Airforce in the Middle East as a Korean War military historian, personnel director of a national insurance company in Atlanta, Georgia; Evanston (Illinois) newspaper reporter, high school teacher on Chicago’s Gold Coast and in downstate Illinois, and a federal prison volunteer. After many European holidays with grandchildren and friends, he presently enjoys writing detective mysteries and spiritual reflections when not engaged as a robust contender at the Bridge table.
