About the Book

This is a real Thanksgiving story. On Friday, the next day of Thanksgiving, Zoe’s mother took Zoe to the busy airport, carrying a big box of used clothes. Zoe, who was holding on to her mom’s coat, not to get lost, heard a squeaky noise that she interpreted as “Zoe, Zoe, Zoe.” Then she saw a beautiful puppy in a cage that read Pierre. Accidentally, she followed the lady pulling the dog’s cage. Zoe was so tired, so she jumped on a passenger cart to continue following the cage. From far away she saw when her mom gave the box to the lady of the cage and the lady gave her mom Pierre’s cage. To know the rest of this sweet, lovely adventure you need to read this book. Zoe, Pierre, and the whole family lived happily ever after. Este cuento es realmente una aventura del Dia de Acción de Gracias. El viernes, el próximo dia de Acción de Gracias, la mamá de Zoé se fue al aeropuerto cargando una caja grande de ropa usada. Zoé quien caminaba rápido sugetándose del abrigo de su mamá para no perderse, escuchó unos chirridos que ella interpretó como, “Zoé, Zoé, Zoé.” Entonces ella vió un bello perrito en una jaula que decía PIERRE.. Accidentalmente ella siguió a la señora que jalaba la jaula de Pierre. Zoé estaba tan cansada que cuando vió un carrito de transportar pasajeros, se subió en él para seguir persiguiendo al perrito. A lo lejos ella vió cuando su mamá le dio la caja a la señora que tenia a Pierre y la señora le dio a su mamá la jaula con Pierre. About the Author

Edia L. Velez was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico. She moved to the United States during 1960, graduated from Houston Baptist University, and taught elementary bilingual education at Houston Independent School District (HISD). She graduated from the Institute of Children’s Literature in Connecticut. In 2001 she retired from the US Department of Education in Washington, DC, where she worked for eleven years. She published her first bilingual book, Jessica’s Summer Vacation (Las vacaciones de verano de Jéssica), and her second bilingual book, The Tale of Bad Guts and Bad Blood (El cuento de mala entrañita y mala sangre). Edia has two daughters, Edia Zoe Lugo Husband and Lynette Lugo Petrie; a son, David Lugo, married to Mónica; and five grandchildren. Her hobbies are writing for children, gardening, and reading. She lives in Kingwood, Texas. Edia L. Velez nació en San Sebastian, Puerto Rico. Ella se mudó a los Estados Unidos durante los 1960. Se graduó de Houston Baptist University. Enseñó escuela elemental bilingue en Houston Independent School District (HISD). Se graduó del “Institute of Children’s Literature” en Connecticut. En 2001, se retiró del Departamento de Educación de los Estados Unidos de America en Washington, DC, en donde trabajó por once años. Ella publicó su primer libro bilingue llamado, Jessica’s Summer Vacation/Las vacaciones de verano de Jéssica y su segundo libro bilingüe, The Tale of Bad Guts and Bad Blood/El cuento de Mala Entrañita y Mala Sangre. Ella tiene dos hijas, Edia Zoé Lugo Husband y Lynette Lugo Petrie, y su hijo David Lugo, casado con Mónica, y cinco nietos. Su entretenimiento favorito es escribir para niños, trabajar en su jardín, y leer. Ella vive en Kingwood, Texas.
