About the Book

Poetry has always been a way for me to express myself, inspire and uplift others. Working with “The CHARLES UNGER Experience” has given me the tools that I needed to develop my rhythm with verses that express language. The collaboration is an intensity of my imagination with the innovated sounds of the musicians that I have worked with. A vast variety of my poems has been a reflection of music that were written by the amazing “Charles Unger, and awesome Music Director “Sam Peoples.” Can’t Wait, is a collaboration from the CD Around the World, and Mr. 2am is from the CD Mr. 2am. The Charles Unger Experience has brought many musicians together the sounds that they bring has created a pass for me to create a platform to entertain an audience that enjoys the Art and Artists.

About the Author

As a little girl I’ve always wanted to write stories. I can remember keeping my journal so close to me people would always ask me questions about my stories. Because I was raised by an awesome grandmother that was an inspiration in my life always encouraging me to write. A aunt who was a school teacher along with her brothers who gave me the knowledge that I need to deal with my issues of having absent parents. I was born in a small town Alexandria, LA where I attended school, also Grambling College where I learned to communicate with other students realizing that I had so much in common with them. It was doing the 60’s and early 70’s when I moved to San Francisco, California continuing to write. I had many opportunities as I started to work with several directors and play writers and soon I started coordinating my own shows consisting of a group of models and dancers writing small scripts. After two marriages that ended in divorced I was left to raise my three children I stopped writing to focus on a regular job. And then one day I realized that I needed to start writing again. I learned to express my frustration and angry through Poetry and it became my passion. Today the opportunities I received has become my way of expressing myself I am very fortunately to write Lyrics for some of the most amazing jazz musicians in the Bay area. I have become a very passionate Spoken Word Artist performing with the “The Charles Unger Experience” jazz band. I will continue my journey expressing words that has enhance all of my abilities to create what has been given to me as a gift.
