About the Author

Lindy Dobson aka Lindy J is an Australian who has spent most of her life forging out a successful career in the television industry producing shows across a vast array of programming all over the world. Her television career has seen her reside in the UK, Europe, Asia and South America. From an early age Lindy J always had a burning passion for creative writing especially for young children. She found her imagination was always in over-drive making up stories in her head but never putting pen to paper. Four years ago she lost her partner to melanoma but in that time she somehow found the strength and courage to pursue her passion and write the story of Pinky the Monster and the Secret Garden – a made up bed-time story her partner had relayed to her god-daughters one night which magically seemed to tap into their imagination. They are a big part of the inspiration for pursuing this book. Even when Lindy J felt like giving up they pushed her to keep going. Their enthusiasm for Pinky and his friends was contagious and so Pinky the Monster and the Secret Garden was born. Lindy J is passionate about teaching young children the intrinsic values of life’s simplicity – love, kindness, compassion and fun. She really wanted to write a book that was built on these platforms but relayed in a fun way that transported children into a magical world full of colour and everyday adventures. Lindy J hopes to continue her writing with a complete series of Pinky the Monster and the Secret Garden with each book challenging children’s imagination through relatable and fun characters.
