About the Book

This book dissertation is the assignment and requirement for Doctorate of Theology for the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta Georgia and research of military Veteran leadership to serve the St. Paul Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. The Church as a center of resources is an institution of God. For some, it may conjure memories of domination and oppression. Many obstacles that prevent our relationship with God the Father. The Church is in a constant battle with forces that attack the community. We are to function as the body with many parts and committed to the body of Christ. Leadership is not being identified and used for the benefit of the Church. The Church serves as a Center for resources and a collective of shared responsibility. The purpose of this work is to identify our Veteran Leadership, and their Knowledge, Skills and abilities, and communication gaps within the church leadership for the community. Our mission is to teach that experiences are building blocks that enable the church to reestablish the community through the transformation of that community by using the knowledge, skills, and ability of leaders in the congregation. How can the Church serve as a center for Veteran resources and a collective of sharing responsibility in the Public and for the community.

About the Author

Michael Hughes as a Doctoral Student at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta Georgia. I have been obedient to God's word and guidance. As a retired military officer for 30 plus years I have been blessed and encouraged by the soldiers, family members and civilians I have served. They have given me many experiences to lead and to be a servant to community. These experiences have also led me to see issues and problems from spiritual eyes and to do things in God's way. Being diagnosed with cancer in 2015 and in continued treatment for the past 8 years has given me strength to be Holy and to serve with clear eyes. I would like to thank the faculty, staff and fellow students for there support through my journey and there guidance in accomplishing the assignment God has given me. God bless those who will read these words and may they find comfort in building community.
