Zulu smiled while glancing at the corner where a car with squeaky brakes stopped at the light. The sound of screeching car tires murking thru the intersection alerted Zulu and Killa who jumped on point observing a Buick Regal swerve in front of the building they were at.
“I told y’all!” With the smile of revenge, Keyshawn Sparks was leaning out the passenger window of the Buick aiming a S.K. Automatic at Zulu and Killa. In that instant where they thought they were on point, they weren’t. Keyshawn Sparks caught them slipping.
“Oh shit.” Zulu mumbled under his breath seeing his life flash. It happened so quick they never expected it to go down like this. Killa wasn’t ready to meet his Old Earth (Mother) yet, so to save his life, Killa pulled his hammer out while eyeing the black hole of death Keyshawn Sparks aimed in their direction.
“Run Zulu,” Killa shouted snatching the 9mm Glock from off his waist as Keyshawn Sparks opened fire. Killa felt the bullets whisking pass his frame so he dashed behind Zulu who flew towards the store. Killa sprinted backwards returning shots but the S.K. fired rapidly spitting slugs all over the stoop and the façade of the building. A slug banged Zulu in the hip then his lower back as he neared the front of the store next door. Killa was blasting back until a slug smacked him in the shoulder. Killa dropped his arm then raised it up to keep firing only to be hit by another slug in his abdomen which knocked him back onto the trashcans in front of the store. Zulu was running on all fours up into the store as the hot slugs in him sent a burning twinge jolting thru his body.
Keyshawn Sparks peeped the damage he was doing but he wasn’t satisfied. He jumped out the Buick and ran up onto the sidewalk to finish his enemies. He peeped Killa spring up from off the knocked over trashcans and squeezed his trigger determined to lay Killa down and keep him down. A slug smacked Killa dead in his face. Killa’s face felt like it was struck by lightning even though he was only grazed. His head felt dizzy and the pain in his shoulder and stomach had his balance off as he wobbled to the store entrance where Zulu was crawling inside.

“Why you staring at me like that Ny?” Zulu asked as he lay back in the passenger seat. NyJewel’s stare penetrated Zulu and ventured deeper than the physical shell she was looking at. She was in love with Zulu and entwined with his soul, but she wondered was his soul on the same plane.
“Because I love you so much Zulu.” NyJewel leaned over and kissed him on his lips. “But Zulu,” NyJewel cuffed Zulu’s hand and lowered her gaze to their locked hands. “I hope you understand that I can’t share you and I can’t be second to no woman Zulu…it’s not right.”
“Here we go with the bullshit.” Zulu sighed tensely hearing his inner voice ring out, “I should’ve known this shit was coming.” Zulu told himself remaining silent.
“Zulu answer me.”
“Damn Ny,” Zulu inched closer to her still holding her hand. “You not second to no one…I love you with all my heart…you said you understood my situation and you would give me time…I’m just…damn what the fuck.” Zulu was living the crazy life of loving two women. He didn’t know what to do.
“Zulu I’m serious…you gonna have to choose who it’s gonna be…me or Destiny…you can’t have yo cake and eat it too.”
“Why can’t I…the cake supposed to be ate.”
“This not a game Zulu…people feelings involved…you gotta make a decision if you wanna be with me,” NyJewel stated igniting the engine. “I’m going downtown to run some errands…make up yo mind love…I’m not going anywhere…I’m here waiting on you Zulu,” NyJewel gently touched Zulu’s chin and looked deeply into his eyes before kissing him, “I love you Zulu but I’m not gonna let you crush my heart.”
“Alright alright…I get with you later Ny,” Zulu quickly responded jumping out of the car. He dragged his feet over to the salon and sat on the steps letting his thoughts get absorbed by his world of confusion. He was stuck between two gardens of paradise and didn’t know which garden to choose.

“…Every time we sell drugs to a child’s parents we hurting that child by contributing to the destruction of that black child’s parent.”
“I ain’t sell that kid mother shit.”
“It don’t even matter Zulu…this whole drug epidemic is just creating a cycle of hate and destruction that’s why we can’t have peace…if our people had knowledge of who the True and Living God is we would overcome this destruction. I’m talking about the Creator of the Universe who is the spirit of Man…it’s in 1 Corinthians Chapter 6 verses 19-20, and it clearly states that the holy spirit of God is in us. Why you think these scientist and chemists made these drugs and guns which is destroying our people. It’s because they know that as long as we on drugs we will never have peace and be able to live happily, and that’s another reason they got us blind to the knowledge of our true self which is God because once we know that God is our true self we will stop killing each other. When we kill each other we killing God…we killing our self…we destroying ourselves with everything…we must utilize the power of our will to stop violence…stop using drugs and liquor…that’s how we will have happiness and stop this cycle of destruction that plague us my brother.”
