About the Book

The book will be divided into two major parts, each with a number of shorter chapters. Part I will tell the story of Shughla’s journey and how Sana Orphanage came into existence, in chronological order. Each chapter will tell about a particular step on the way, an incident or a milestone that was significant. Part II will tell the stories of some of the individual children at Sana. Some chapters will be extremely brief, while others will be longer. Not all of the children’s stories can be told, as there are over fifty children now at the orphanage; but a sampling of various stories will be included, to give the reader an idea of the kinds of things these children have been forced to deal with in their short lives.

I purchased my copy of “Love in Despair” by Shughla Karzai on Amazon. This book has take me along in it’s journey back to Afghanistan through the eyes of an Afghan-American. A perspective which helps me relate first hand as an Afghan American who wishes to return one dag as well. A beautiful tale of Hope, Love and Light amidst the dispair of the war torn country Afghanistan. I laughed and I cried, my heart melted and my heart rejoiced, my soul was filled with compassion and was exalted as I read this book. I would HIGHLY recommend this book for all those who wish to experience a journey that is truly remarkable in its courage which is central and the very heart of this story. This is an incredible story of what courage brings about when combined with kindness, a heart of gold and The POWER OF WILL AND INTENTION! A MUST READ‼️

I got my copy from Amazon and I loved the book as a whole, although it was a very emotional and painful journey but as the name suggests, it was actually love in despair. After reading that book, I searched the author on social media and started following her, and I got actually overwhelmed by her work and enthusiasm towards her work. I would definitely recommend this book to every individual out there.
