A New Woman - Free as a Butterfly

One day, I had reached a point in my life where I was not happy with the way things were going in the marriage. I was working full time again and facing some challenges at work, as well as on the home front. My outward appearance looked good, but I was a lost soul and there was much darkness inside my soul. I was so empty lost and desperately wanting a change in my life. I began praying and searching for God. I was going to this catholic church during lunch time to pray and making promises to God. I was making deals with God wondering if God really was listening. You see most people only pray to God when they are in trouble. I was that kind of person that only prayed when I was in trouble. My Salvation Experience One weekend a new friend name Jill who was a Jewish believer invited me to her church. I will never forget that day that I walked into Evangel Church, Long Island City New York. I was going through a hard trial at work, at home and my youngest son was suffering from Asthma and getting sick very often. I was at a point in my life where I knew I needed change, but I couldn’t do it in my own strength. I had come to the end of myself. I walked into Church and within a few minutes of worshipping the Lord, the presence and the power of God fell on me. I began to shake and weep and felt this warm feeling come over me. God spoke to me so clearly and called me by my name. I heard his audible voice, and I opened my eyes to see who was calling me but everyone around me was worshiping and had their eyes closed. I was experiencing a love that I never experienced in my life. I was being filled with his presence. You see I was empty and lost and there was a void in my heart that only the Love of God can fill. When the love of God touches you, it changes you forever. That was the day that I surrendered my life to the Lord and had a radical conversion. As I cried out to Jesus and told him that I needed him and wanted him to take over my life. I opened my heart to him and asked him to come into my heart and change me. I was desperate and felt hopeless and didn’t want to continue living the way that I was living. That day my spirit became alive and I became a born again believer. John 3:3 - Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 1 Peter 1:23 - Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever. That first week of my salvation experience, I was experiencing a spiritual awakening. The Lords presence was all over me on a regular basis. The Love of Jesus captured my heart and forever changed me. I remember going to work and hearing him sing songs to me as I would sit at my desk. He started to fill my heart with such a peace and I kept feeling a love that I had never experienced in my entire life. I found hope in Christ Jesus. His love could not be compared with the love that a human being can give you. His love went deep into my heart and soul. Romans 5:5-6 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. I began to have a relationship with Jesus. This was not religion, this was a relation with the living God. Through prayer and reading the word daily, I went through a process of change and started a new life. He gave me a fresh start and wiped away my sins of the past. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God sacrificed his son, Jesus, for the sins of humanity, and if you believe in him, your soul will be saved God’s plan of salvation is for all mankind. Everyone needs salvation because all have sinned. Romans 10:9-10, and 13 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved ... For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Salvation through Jesus Christ brings us into a relationship of peace with God. Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. God gave me a new heart, and he began to teach me to forgive all those people that had hurt me in the past. I had resentment in my heart for years and he began to place those people whom I had resented in my path so that I can forgive them. This went on for six months. He taught me the power of forgiveness. Just as the Lord Jesus forgave me, he wanted me to forgive all those that had hurt me. God was changing my heart, my mind and breaking habits, relationships and I was going through a transformation. As a caterpillar goes through the metamorphosis stage, I was also going through a transformation/metamorphosis Metamorphosis is defined as a change into something new, or the process of an insect or amphibian maturing into adult form. I was becoming A New Woman - Free as a Butterfly.
