Bug I stepped on a butterfly. I stopped a fluttering heart. I stepped on a butterfly. I tore it apart. The butterfly is dead. Dead under my foot. The butterfly is dead. I don’t want to look. Did I even see a butterfly? Was it just another bug? Did I even see a butterfly? I don’t need more guilt to lug.

About the Book
Life changes people. Deep down in the negatives of change there is something that isn’t necessarily positive it is just another. It seems like a myriad of those others were found within the span of a few years from a global pandemic, to family separation, health issues, as well as the overall struggles that come with growing up have influenced the passionate poems in this book.
About the Author
Born the daughter of Military Veterans, one of which immigrated from Haiti at a young age, Hyacinthe has discovered a type of Solace in writing that is difficult to find in everyday life. This 15 year old writer was first published in a poetry book at the age of 11. Ever since then writing has become her second nature. This is the first of hopefully many books authored by her.
