The convoy came around the bend, finally in full view. Amelia was close in her guess; 20 horses were in this convoy. They had two horsemen in the front leading the way. These guys looked horrific with their large swords carried over their shoulders. The left soldier seemed like a regular person at first, then she looked closer. He had a missing eye for starters, his right jaw was completely bare of flesh. Further down his body she could see where he had a wide-open gash in his neck that was filled with rotten meat. Followed by the fact that underneath his sword arm his by his ribs, meat and bone, were all reddish green in color. His lungs moved at a continuous rhythm while he breathed, as his one eye searched to the left and right. The right horseman didn't look any better at all. His entire left arm was bone, clean bone, yet he could still move it. "I must be dreaming!" thought Amelia, "this is straight out of a nightmare." The armor they wore was like rusting steel, browning in several areas and extremely worn. The convoy had the two in front followed by four horses, riderless, pulling a large cage, almost a small house. In the cage was something huge, bulky, and black. She didn't know what it was, but it couldn't have been a swell sight. She knew for a fact that Anthony had a far more superior view of it. There were three horsemen on either side of said cage, as if trying to guard whatever beast lay sleeping in that small confinement. There were six horses walking side by side in two columns of three, directly behind the cage. All were saddled but riderless, "they must've been lost capturing that beast, thought Amelia. Behind the riderless horses were two more guards, the rear guards. Amelia moved her eyes towards Anthony's hiding spot and could see his bow had been drawn. When she looked where he was aiming, she could see that one of the rear guards was headed towards her. She panicked wondering how on earth she could've been spotted, but the answer didn t come until she looked down and saw the dim glow of her armor. "Just my luck!" She whispered to herself in agitation. Before she had any time to think of a plan, she heard two low "thumps" back-to-back.
The first arrow went through the guard s leg, pinning him to the horse. He began to make a clattering form of chatter that almost sounded like speech. The second went through his heart, still holding a piece of it on its tip. "Great shot!" Amelia couldn't help but exclaim out loud. Once again, it was a bad move. At this all the horsemen turned their attention to the horse running, dragging its now certainly dead rider on its side. They then turned their attention to the silhouette that stood beside the large boulder. Amelia gulped; she was so glad that Anthony was behind them. While she had their attention, he was going through with his own ingenious plan. He had jumped down to the cage and climbed to the back door. She saw Frodo come out of Anthony's cloak then disappear, and seconds later the large door on the cage swung open. Anthony climbed in and slapped the beast with his sword then dove out of the cage onto one of the horses that stood behind. A blood curdling roar flooded into everybody's ears, dead or alive. Amelia felt sick in the stomach, and the stench of undead soldiers was not in her favor. The convoy instantly went into panic mode and forgot all about Amelia, there was now a bigger fish to fry. In one smooth motion, Anthony cut the horse loose and tried to steer it into his desired direction. Meanwhile, the beast that had been captive was now standing full height and ravenous for blood. The fact that this whole scenario happened in less than two minutes was nowhere near as impressive and horrific as the slaughter that took place moments after. Anthony rode the horse to Amelia as fast as he could, while behind him the beast was going berserk. The beast was all black, or so it looked in the moonlight, and was at least fifteen feet tall. It had a thick maned lion s head with three jagged, razor-sharp horns protruding from its head. It had the body of a gorilla with four ridiculously muscular arms. Behind its large arms where two huge leathery wings that resembled those of a bat s. The topmost part of its wings, however, were covered in the same dark fur as the rest of its unnatural body. This beast could fly, it had a body like that of a bodybuilder, and on top of that, it had a large dragon-like tail, with spikes and all. The tail started to glow with an electric purple aura, then the spikes began to flicker with the same electrically charged purple.
