About the Book

“Reflections of Me- Living Life Experiences” is a collection of short stories written in poetry style. It is written as narrative poetry. Narrative poetry is one of the most common poetic forms. This poetic form is very much like a novel. Narrative poetry includes a series of events, including actions and dialogues. It uses a number of poetic methods such as rhyme, meter, and rhyming scheme. Usually, a narrative poem has a single speaker who is known as the narrator. The narrator recites the entire story from beginning to end. I am the narrator of these short stories/poems. The short stories in this narrative poetry are about life experiences such as; looking in the mirror, self-image, blind fate, family reunions, “isms” of the world, friendships, my way of thinking, testing the trials of life, communications, betrayal, beware of the snares, math problems of everyday life, “As Is” and more of life experiences that everyone can relate to at some point and time in their past, as they look in the mirror and reflect upon their life. These are some of the short stories/poems titles that you will find inside this book.

About the Author

I am Mrs. Sarah F. Wilburn. I am a retired educator of thirty plus years, as well as a wife and mother of one son. I am also an Ordained Minister. These poems were birth at the lowest point in my life. I lost my job and became an at home wife and mother. This sudden change affected my family financially and emotionally. However, things are not always as bad as they appear to be. I just had to adjust to my new life style by budgeting and prioritizing my spending habits. Being an at home wife and mother, I had a lot of time on my hand. Most of my time was spent housekeeping. I spent the rest of my time in prayer, meditation and reading my bible. God began to reveal things to me concerning my life through other people. I was able to see my strengths and weaknesses: spiritually, emotionally, intellectually and physically. As the Lord began to reveal this to me, I began to write poetry about some of my life experiences. This is a God given talent. I now realize that God is able to perform the good works that he started in me. The Lord will not tempt you more than what is common to man, and he will make a way of escape for you. The Lord has come to my rescue so many times. There is victory in Jesus. Truly, the race is not given to the swift nor to the strong, but to him that endures to the end. They shall run and not be weary, walk and not faint, mount up with wings as an eagle and soar with the wind beneath their wings. There is a time and season for every purpose under the sun. This is my season to be BLESSED as well as yours. The Lord knows the plans he has for my life, plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me hope and a future. A special thanks to everyone who had a hand in molding and shaping me into my new life. Forgive me for the frustrations that I may have put you through. Thank You Lord, for your GRACE and MERCY towards me, your humble servant, Sarah F. Wilburn
