About the Book

Raising a child is a journey…Parents have produced a little human to love, protect, nurture and help develop into an adult. It is my hope that with mindfulness, parents can intentionally facilitate the development of specific characteristics and values that will benefit their child in becoming all he/she/they can become.

About the Author

Sandra Schumer M.A. Bio Ms. Schumer worked as a Speech Therapist for the deaf for 30 years. Her love for language and specific word choice in communication is reflected in both her first book, The Language of Parenting, and this book, Parenting On Purpose. Ms. Schumer has worked as an Educational Administrator and owned and directed a Preschool and Enrichment Center (Maple Park, RVC, NY). It was there where she first began facilitating parent groups, teaching “Mommy & Me” separation classes and lecturing at Local Day Care programs. Ms. Schumer is currently retired but continues to facilitate Parent Workshops concerning the challenges, responsibilities, opportunities and JOYS of parenting. “Parenthood is a club you join without knowing the dues or bylaws.”
