About the Author

Saundra Amos Crum, the author of “Sadie Goose’s Surprise” is a retired school counselor, mother, wife, and grandmother to three rambunctious young boys. The author’s professional life as an educator and firsthand experiences as a mother and grandmother have inspired her to author this book. Additionally, memories of her own mother’s passion and zest for reading, dramatizing, and collecting books kindled an interest in authoring children’s books. If asked why this late start? The author’s response might be – “It was always a part of me and a bucket list desire; I just didn’t have the time. Now, however, I have the time and grandchildren that have truly inspired me! I have been surrounded by books all my life because my mother was a school librarian who believed that a child should have their favorite book in their hand.” The author desires to write books that are not for mere entertainment value, but stories that have a counseling component and a vocabulary that children can use to express feelings, emotions, and a desire to continue the course should their course become too difficult to manage. The author hopes that “Sadie Goose’s Surprise” will be the first of many children’s books that she will author. Please sit back, read, and emphasize the humorous parts of the book while letting young children know that they have options. The book is designed to eliminate excuses that seem feasible when one has been given an undesired task. Read and let the author know what you think as an educator, parent or simply a reader.
