About the Book

This book traces the histories of families who came to North America from Europe centuries ago. The Grants came from Scotland and the Cunkles came from Germany. In the United States, both families married other immigrants from Europe, and spread out from eastern farms to Florida, Kansas, and elsewhere. Although many families have impressive family trees, they know little of the stories of past generations. These stories are worth preserving and help us appreciate our place in history.

About the Author

Eleanor Cunkle Grant grew up listening to family stories. Both of her parents were proud of their ancestry and knew a lot about it. A great deal of oral and written history was passed along and is gathered here for future generations. Eleanor taught high school math and is married to a medical school professor. They live in Galveston Texas.
