Who Is Stronger?

About the Book

A curious boy asks his mother about strength and receives a story instead
of a clear answer. The story is about a girl who goes out to play with her
friends. While walking a familiar path, her simple journey to town takes an
unexpected turn when she meets some unusual beings, which tell her that she
must pass an unexpected test: choose the strongest one of them, but each
of them offers a different kind of strength. With the help of her puppy, she
learns that strength manifests in many forms and that it is not always visible.
She must look beyond appearances to discern which of them would have the
most power. That choice, once made, offends the rest of the creatures; each
of them claimed unparalleled strength. She realizes that true strength may
not be what it seems.
The story comes with activities: educational exercises for enhancing language
skills and tasks such as arranging words to form grammatically correct sentences
(provided vocabulary). It features an exercise for joining dots and identifying
hidden words. It also includes prompts for expressing opinions about this
story. The young reader is exposed to the concepts of noun, verb, pronoun,
numeral, adjective and adverb.
