About the Book
Kross Kountry is a sequel to the author’s previous novel, Tutored Souls, and tells the story of Gabriella Gunst, the eighteen-year-old daughter of parents, Marika and Erich Gunst, the principals of Tutored Souls, when she is recruited to participate in the sport of cross-country at a prestigious college in Massachusetts. Following in the footsteps of her academic parents, her objective is to pursue an academic career with an emphasis in Czech/Slavic studies. Gabriela’s academic and athletic journeys take on an international flavor when she crosses the Atlantic to Europe and enrolls at Prague’s Charles University. Arriving right after the Velvet Revolution, Gabriela’s studies and experiences are enhanced by new prosperity and recovered freedoms resulting from the removal of Communist oppression, and her athletic achievement is showcased to the world in Spain at the Olympic Games. Gabriela’s self- actualization is ingrained in the positive relationships she establishes with coaches, faculty, students, and friends.
