For almost a quarter of a century, Katherine Copeland has remained silent about the events that led to the untimely death of her mother. As Katie recalls her tragic life in Lantana, a host of shady characters materializes: the simple and idiotic Ms. Daisy; Miss Christina, the adulteress; Delgado, the lazy voodoo priest; Shacklewood, the sinister pharmacist; Ma Walters, the crazy town gossip; and the beautiful Miss Daphney, whose charm and personality sets her apart from this motley crew.

About the Author

Born on the island of Dominica, Beverly Thomas obtained her post-graduate degree at the University of Massachusetts. For the past fifteen years she has worked as an educator in Boston, Massachusetts and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Previously published works are her poems entitled: “Customers of the Forbidden City,” “The Most Precious Gift,” “Kaleidoscope,” “Honesty,” “The Vivid Colors of Life,” “Are we Fools,” “Margaret: Mother and Friend,” and “ Especially For You.” Currently she lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
