About the Book

A River to Hide By:  A late summer afternoon in 1980 Kansas City.  A young woman secretary, Brittany Ross, steps down from her bus and walks across a park toward her home.  Suddenly she hears steps behind her.

A dark haired man throws her to the ground despite her screams and presses his hands against her throat.  As help approaches, he seizes her wallet and runs.

Several days later Brittany sees a man very like her attacker near her office.  Is he following her?  Was the attack more than just a pursesnatching?  Panicked, she leaves town.  Where can she hide?  Perhaps there is a place she can use, a houseboat moored on the Mississippi River near Dubuque.
