The covering, shield, and power to perform our mission is delivered to us in the “Secret Place”. Ordinances and tradition within the church body plays an important part of this process. However, the bottom line is that each individual participant in the process is invited to allow God to come into their heart for the experience of being in God’s presence. Ordinances and traditions do not bring any individual into God’s presence. They just set up an atmosphere for God’s presence to come. We dishonor God when we display arrogance and pride by expecting God to operate on our command and timing as if His presence is a magic trick we can perform at any time.
