Chapter 2 - Motivation Behind Acts of Love
Paragraphs 5-8
Just as the serpent told Eve she would not surely die, an assumption about another person’s character plants the same kind of statement in a person’s mind. Assumptions don’t tell the truth about how the other person feels. The thought is that if you make assumptions about the other person, the relationship will not surely die. Two people in a close intimate relationship can surely be in a relationship that looks good on the outside for a while. The truth is that the lack of unity in communication can and will cause the relationship to eventually die. The two people can drag a relationship on as they become the walking dead. They become walking dead being physically together but Spiritually apart if the absence of unity is ignored.
Love, joy, and peace are named as the first fruit named in the Fruit of the Spirit in the book of Galatians 5. These fruits give the relationship life. Having a letter or document that says you are married with no ability to engage in good communication kills the relationship. The Fruit of the Spirit operate in the relationship to bring abundant life.
Many people are accustomed to sharing information that is partially true to a person that they say they love. They place high value in saying what they feel is right to the other person.
Technically, a person that says what they think the other person wants to hear is lying to the other person. The person that is giving partially true information to the other person is lying for the sake of keeping the relationship in good standing. In the end, the only thing that is accomplished is the lie dressed up as a partial truth.
Chapter 3 – Beauty is a Spiritual Choice, Let “US” or Let “Me”
Paragraph 11 to 18
Divine Love in God is always a situation of “Let Us”
Perverted Love in the flesh is always a situation of “Let Me” do this for me and claim it is for us.
They are both expressions of Love. The difference is Divine Love lets the Spirit of God into the mix to bring more divine guidance from God.
Perverted Love accepts the spirit of Satan. This spirit sets the atmosphere to bring deceit, dishonesty, and selfishness.
Perversion takes the genuine honest intent of expressing love, which is intended to be beautiful, and converts it into a never-ending web of deception about what is really going on.
The hard part to digest is that the love can be genuine, but the amount of energy used to keep up the outward appearance of love does not leave a way for the individuals to accept Spiritual guidance. This guidance can only come from God.
Divine Love is beautiful.
Divine Love started from creation where God took the beauty of creation and His words to create Adam and Eve to establish a means of coming into agreement with God about how beauty is defined. This beauty, which is best understood from the heart and mind of God, adds the element of abundance to the real-life day to day experiences in Love.
