About the Book

Most countries have folk tales about animals, for example brier rabbit, wolves and bears. In Ghana, a country in West Africa, folk tales are built around Anansi, the spider. The stories demonstrate how clever and deceitful Anansi could be. You will notice that being dishonest and devious never makes one happy for long.

About the Author

Christine Friar grew up in Ghana. She started writing and illustrating Anansi stories when her kids were young. She lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area with her family, dog, cat and a chicken.
