About the Book
My name is Mildred M. MacBride. I have read much history, minored in history in college, traveled to see many historical places, and went to Scotland to find out about my ancestors and relatives. I found many stories that I wanted to share.
Some of those stories have turned into a trilogy about the MacKenzie family, “The Three Women of Kintail”. This is the third part of that series. It tells of the clan receiving much needed land from their help in defeating the Norse in the War of 1263 between King Alexander, of Scotland and King Haakon, of Norway.
It is now 1266 and the “Treaty of Perth” has been signed giving the Western coast and the Hebridean Islands to Scotland.
Life is hard, but they are strong, valiant people. They have many talents that they are using in many ways and in many places so that the MacKenzie Clan is moving ahead as leaders of Scotland, and eventually in many other parts of the world.
