About the Book

The James family moved from New Orleans, stopping in Nagodoshes. During this memorable two days, Melinda gave birth to Michael. Coming to see the baby, the hotel owner where the baby was born told Jed about Northern soldiers perhaps fifty miles north. He was closing the hotel; the James’ small entourage must leave immediately. Packing for early Monday departure, Jed pushed the carriage and buggy toward Waco. Marian Nell Thompson has written a historical fiction romance named WONDERFUL BUT TROUBLESOME TIMES. Now she writes a sequel entitled THE JAMES FAMILY – MOVING ON TO TEXAS. Marian’s interests increase in writing fiction with a historical background. Research of specific time warps come from published periodicals, tales Marian has heard on various media, and also realistically related family or extended family history stories. In taking writing courses and in teaching writing to her school students, Marian knows that even when stories are fictitious, a realistic aspect of reality must filter into her writings.
