About the Book
Hot off the boat from his GI tour of Japan, young Cassidy continues the Great Chase for "it," this time in his new status as WWII Vet. Homefront America was still struggling to recover from its war economy, but young Vets like Cassidy had the best of both worlds. From high school to the GI Bill, all doors seemed open to him, though right up to the end, the Chase was as frustrating as ever.
About the Author
Like his young hero, Cassidy, author A.W. Crudden quit high school at 16 to join the Army. Following the Service, he returned to finish school and went on to college courtesy of the GI Bill. After completing undergraduate and graduate degrees, he taught at both the secondary and college levels, retiring with his wife to rural New York and New Mexico to write and to paint, respectively. They have two children and three grandchildren.
