About the Book
As a means of expressing thoughts, opinions, outrage, love and wonder, iam mai captured her voice through the written word. Since the age of 15, she found this form of artistic expression came easily, freely and soulfully. She kept her poetry, lyrics and short stories private for most of her life. It was not until a very close relative entered one of her poems in a City wide television contest, which she won, that anyone beyond the comforts of her home had heard her work. Quickly iam mai was encouraged to share her poetry through spoken word. She was able to show her strength, politics, humanity and vulnerability. “I believe that we are on a journey which can be perplexing, vexing, exciting and fulfilling. From time to time on this journey, there is clarity. We are living into the life we create from our previous thoughts and actions years ago. The future we are creating depends on our thoughts and actions today. So, through these peaks and valleys I have learned
that I must remember
to be aware of my thoughts, words and actions. Though I may forget what I was thinking, saying or doing yesterday, the universal intelligence never falters.”About the Author
