About the Book

This book introduces one Pilgrim’s Progress through Washington as recounted to a master interviewer, Stu Kennedy of the Association for Diplomatic Studies and Training. It is a glimpse into the inner workings of the American political and foreign policy machine by someone who has seen a lot up close -- from the Great Society and eight presidential campaigns to Arab-Israeli peacemaking and the rebuilding of NATO; who himself has had an impact on the domestic and foreign affairs of the United States and the good luck to know and work for several of the past half-century’s statesman-giants.
