About the Book

Final Estimate begins when private detective Deirdre Cash is hired to find a missing daughter. After locating her, the case continues with the search for the daughter’s missing boyfriend. It ends with a murder. Unwilling to leave the identity of the murderer to the police, Deirdre continues her investigation. In the process she encounters a number of fascinating suspects, including the mother whose daughter Deirdre had initially been hired to locate and her daughter’s male and female associates. That’s half of the story. For the other half, Deirdre loses her husband to a young beauty with whom she becomes intimately involved. In the final estimate the tale ends in a double triumph.

About the Author

Douglas Browning, retired university professor of philosophy, lives outside Georgetown, Texas, where he labors at length over poems and novels, stays up throughout the night reading, writing, listening to jazz, and smoking cigars, and enjoys life in his countryside hacienda with his talented and beautiful wife.
