About the Book
National Historic Sites and National Historical Parks are two of the several designations used in Government Legislation to identify a type of parksite.
Parksites of these types are located all over the country. They preserve and interpret for the public a wide variety of historic sites and natural features. At the time this book is written, there are 85 National Historic Sites and 68 National Historical Parks. These parksites are administered by several government agencies, primarily the National Park Service.
I have visited all of the National Historic Sites and National Historical Parks and have been presenting a course on these two topics. The course consists of photographs and basic information on each parksite as well as comments based on my experiences while visiting these parksites. This book is a somewhat expanded version of the course notes and presentation materials.
