About the Book

This story takes two young women, sisters, from their early beginnings from childhood into adulthood. They are fraternal twins and look very much alike, but both extremely different in personality. One sister lives and plays on the edge of drama, taunting all that life can challenge, enticing and taking on many lovers while in college. The other sister worries about her and tries to change her sister’s perverse ways. Her pretense causes the radical many problems but she manages to graduate from college and, taking her sister’s advice, seems to change her life around, but she soon reverts back to her old ways with a new pretense. Her new pretense and plan works well and she marries an extremely wealthy man, but still she is not satisfied with her life and she reverts back to her old ways and take on a lover.
In the worse possible turn of events for this sister, her husband finds she and her lover together in the master bedroom of their home. The resulting devastation causes an innocent young man, who just happened to visit the sister earlier in the day, to be arrested for crimes he did not commit. A resulting trial is crushing for the defendant and those who care about him, since the prosecution has an airtight case. Even with an excellent defense lawyer, the prosecutors feel and know they cannot lose, so strong is the evidence they have. The newspapers have a conviction determined even before the trial begins. The twist, previously unheard of and perhaps never written as such in other novels by other authors, is unique to say the least. The reader will not be disappointed.
The exciting finale at the trial will thrill and please the reader, as love and sacrifice play a major role. The novel will bring to mind, the difference between good and evil, and circumstances where an innocent person can be placed on trial and have no chance of winning an acquittal.
Through the twists and turns this novel will take you on a ride searching for any evidence that could free an innocent man and place the true criminal behind bars.

About the Author

Gene Ligotti was educated at Adelphi University and received his doctorate, as a dental surgeon, from New York University. Ligotti also, as a teenager, studied at Julliard and was a concert pianist. He and his wife, Corbina, having lived their life on Long Island, first in Huntington and then in Smithtown, now in East Northport, all towns in New York. They have two daughters, and three grandchildren. Inflicted with Rheumatoid Arthritis, he had to give up his successful over thirty year practice of dentistry in Huntington. Ligotti began writing as merely something to do, but it soon became a driving force. He is an American history buff, has written three novels of interesting characters of the American Revolution, and has given lectures about the impact the Revolution had on Long Island.
Ligotti soon began writing suspense thrillers and is his special passion. Each suspense thriller has a love story as a sub plot, adding to the narrative, and satisfying readers of that genre. His special gift, which allows readers to identify with his characters, is that he takes ordinary individuals and places them in extraordinary situations. Readers have said, they cannot put his novels down.
