About the Book

Stanley Lemcek and Hubert Huss work in a factory. Stanley is scraping along at the bottom of the barrel. Divorced paying alimony and child support. Hubert Huss is in debt over his head. Both men moonlight as petty thieves for a shady pawnbroker. The partners in crime run afoul with the ruthless Blue Soxer mob. On occasion Stanley’s nephew Bobby and his friend eight-year-old Kathy Grimes, help the two thieves. Inexplicably Stanley Lemcek stops using Bobby and Kathy. The children cannot understand being cutoff from the exciting life. Angered they runaway. Their adventures are utterly fantastic and harrowing.


About the Author

W. Rick Beebe is a free lance writer. During his life he has done an assortment of jobs, everything from a parts cutter in an aircraft factory to dispatching for a parcel post company. Has lived and worked in New Jersey, California and Hawaii. While on a riverboat trip he wrote about his experiences. The story was published in a travel magazine. “Writing is relaxing.” Writing fiction novels became a hobby. The author was born in New Haven, Connecticut where he still resides. He has traveled and studied in Canada. During the cold New England winter enjoys sunny Florida vacationing.
