About the Book

MARS SETTLEMENTS-Chapter 2: The Constructionists In the year 2044, a board meeting of wealthy industrialists is held to discuss the recent discovery of the wreck of the space ship Magellan on the dark side of the Moon. Only one man has survived, Chaplain Billy White. Over the years, he has been promoted to Rear Admiral and it is decided that he should lead the new expedition to Mars. Among the civilians chosen to accompany the military crewmen is Chad Jantz, son of the civilian executive officer who had been accused of mutiny and failure of the first expedition. Upon reaching Mars, Chad attempts to learn the fate of his father and the early pioneers. By pure chance, he stumbles across a pipe that leads to the ancient Milankovich Impact Crater and what remains of the lost pioneer settlement. To his astonishment, he discovers that some of the early pioneers had survived, and he learns the truth of the cruel abandonment by no other than the admiral of the expedition. Fate intervenes in a showdown for survival between the marines and the pioneers.
