This is not about a fishing trip! Jane, who was patterned from the lady who kept her audience doubled over in mirth when she regaled them with her one and only adventure on a deep sea fishing vessel, took on a life of her own. Right in front of me!
When a storm came and the boat dumped her into the brine, near a rocky coast a few days later, there was no holding her back.
I held on to the pen as she sped away across the pages leading to adventure after adventure, and dangerous discoveries—even murder!
Jane was responsible for many others entering onto the white paper under my pen who were as headstrong as she. It was not a merry chase. Dead bodies found, missing for years. A suicide.
She discovered a secret that put her life in more danger than it had been on the wrecked fishing boat.
In her attempt to escape that danger, she had to face the dreaded sea again. She was at risk at every turn, and put those who tried to help her in danger. Plus those whose job it became to unravel and solve it all!
She was strangled, left for dead, covered over with brush and leaves.
When Jane was reported missing, the secrets she had stumbled upon were revealed and acted upon by the sheriff’s office. That led to more adventures, murder and endangerment.
The live characters wrote the story—I had nothing to do with it. I only held on to the pen and let them romp and guide it like an Ouija board!
I followed where they led right to the last line, word.
To a conclusion. Possibly just, perhaps not fair.
