About the Book After an almost too close contact with a friends young daughter just about to become a teenager, and hearing about her for the next few years, I had to marvel at the big bag of tricks they all seem to come with. I also wondered if that was why they all seem to be loaded down with the huge back-packs they tote around every where they go, so full they need to lean forward like mountain climbing to even walk. Anyway, I had a great opportunity to make an in-depth study, having two girls and a boy who had given me plenty of years of teen-angst. Then too, I had been one myself not too many years ago, still recalled it all. We could all out-fox our family, oh-about all adults! We just about had to if we ever expected to do anything we wanted to do. Spread our wings, and keep them from getting clipped! So I decided to write what Katie Did—and I did, and she did and that’s how the book came to be written.
